About Us
Our roller rink has lived many lives after being built in 1908 and opened as Walton's Roller Rink. In 2020, the Mason's, a local family with deep roots in Mentor and roller skating, took ownership and this storied rink became JOY'S ROLLER RINK!

The owner, Connie, named our rink after her daughter, Joy, who was a competitive figure roller skater from age 4-18. Today, Joy is our Certified Instructor and DJ (when she isn't at school pursuing her Master of Healthcare Administration at The Ohio State University) Go Bucks!
Policies to note:
-
No outside food or drink is allowed, including water bottles, unless you have booked a private party. Please see the Private Party page for more information.
-
Adult spectators are free of charge when accompanying skaters. Special exceptions are made at a case-by-case basis (ex. infants or guests with disabilities).
-
You may bring in your own skates as long as they have clean wheels & boots and brakes/toe stops/dance plugs.
-
No skate boards, hover boards, or scooters are permitted.
-
You may not carry anyone while on skates. Carrying people, especially children, while on skates poses a grave threat to the safety of both individuals.
-
Parents/guardians may walk along the edge of the wall with new skaters after removing their shoes. We also have skate mates available to rent for $5.
-
Strollers and carts are not permitted on the floor for safety reasons. Wheelchair users may roll along the edge of the wall at their own risk. Wheels must be clean, no items may drag on the floor for safety purposes. No one may ride on the back or front of a wheelchair while on the skating floor. We recommend that wheelchair users have one person walk or skate with them, but we understand this may not be possible in all instances.
-
Please keep in mind that all of our safety policies are meant to protect the wellbeing of all guests. If you have any questions about your visit, please contact us.
